StaffKelly Kovac

Kelly Kovac had been a receptionist at an animal hospital in Wisconsin for six years before she moved to New Orleans, and we've been fortunate to have her work with us since February 2011. She brings compassion and understanding to both the patients and their owners.

In her free time, Kelly plays sports, watches the Packers and Brewers, and takes her dogs, Turner and Hooch for walks.

StaffJordan Shakespeare

Jordan Shakespeare has been a receptionist at Magazine St. Animal Clinic since February 2013. His responsibilities include checking patients in and out, answering phones, and discussing flea and heartworm prevention with clients. Jordan has a bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University.

At home, he cares for two dogs: Sandy, a husky mix, and William, a dachshund.

StaffKassidy Crabtree

A self-described people and animal person, Kassidy Crabtree joined the Magazine St. Animal Clinic team in May 2013. As the clinic's receptionist, she is responsible for scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, answering phones, filing, and faxing. Kassidy attended Louisiana State University, where she studied history and Italian, and is planning to attend nursing school in the near future.

"Everyone is so friendly and easy-going," she says about working at the clinic. "I also have the greatest co-workers!"

Kassidy has four pets: Monroe, a pitbull; Prudence, a Catahoula/Labrador mix; and two cats, Oliver and Binx. She likes spending time outside with her dogs, going to festivals and concerts, baking, and trying new restaurants and food. She is also a big fan of the Saints and LSU baseball and football.

Technicians

StaffRusshelle Patrice Gremillion, Hospital Manager and RVT

Hospital Manager and Registered Veterinary Technician Russhelle Patrice Gremillion has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since May 2010. Her responsibilities include supervising the clinic team, ensuring quality care is provided to our patients, and managing workflow efficiency. She especially enjoys her relationships with our clients and watching their pets change change through the years.

A Louisiana native, Russhelle has an associate's degree in veterinary technology from Delgado Community College. She is also a medical assistant graduate of Hawaii Business College.

"I love and believe in the medicine we practice. The doctors and the staff are continually learning and training to keep up with medical advances," Russhelle says. "Also, Dr. Teresa is the best cook! She is always baking for the staff."

Russhelle's commitment to caring for animals does not end when she leaves the clinic. She has six pets of her own: Byrd, an Amazon parrot; Queekers, a Quaker parrot; Imani, a miniature pinscher; Louisa, a Rottweiler; and Benny and Trey, both domestic shorthaired cats. In her free time, she enjoys movies, reading, surfing the Internet, and "anything having to do with Disney and the princesses."

StaffJenna Marie Morales, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician Jenna Morales has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since July of 2009. A native of Ponchatoula, she is a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and has an Associate's Degree in Animal Science from Delgado Community College, a degree in General Studies from Southeastern University, and a Certificate of Technical Studies in the Veterinary Assistant program from Louisiana Technical College.

She finds the atmosphere at the clinic calming and healing. "We work as a team. We all get along like family inside and outside the clinic. I learn something new all the time and I'm able to practice and improve my skills as an RVT everyday," she said.

At home, Jenna has an 2-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Paluma. Her free time is primarily occupied with being by the pool in the summertime, exercising when she can find the time, and spending time with her family.

StaffJohn Bergner, RVT

A Registered Veterinary Assistant at Magazine Street Animal Clinic since January 2009, John is from Springfield, GA. He attended the University of Georgia and received his Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Science in 2001. He is currently studying to become a registered veterinary technician.

John likes working with and learning new things from the caring, knowledgeable staff at the hospital. "I love working at Magazine Street because of the amazing owners and patients we see everyday," John said.

His hobbies include biking, playing Frisbee, mowing the lawn, and reading Agatha Christie novels. He also enjoys riding his bike while his Pit Bull, Frankie, runs alongside. His animal companions also include two cats: Lex and Squirt.

StaffTeresa Fardella, RVT

Teresa Fardella is a Registered Veterinary Technician who joined Magazine St. Animal Clinic in September 2012. Her responsibilities include patient care, client education, and appointments. Dentistry and oncology are special professional interests. Teresa has an associate's degree in veterinary technology.

"We're always busy and seeing new cases, always learning something new," she says. "The doctors are all very respectful to patients, clients, and employees."

Teresa has three cats: Loki, Roberta, and Tokyo. She enjoys spending her free time ballet dancing and watching movies.

Assistants

StaffGino Loiacono

A Veterinary Assistant who has been at Magazine Street Animal Clinic since 2004, Gino, hails from Metairie. Gino enjoys helping keep pets healthy and he is proud to be part of our caring, friendly staff. Gino said the best part of his day is "healing pets and keeping them comfortable." He said "the staff and clientele at the clinic are like family. Our four-legged friends are treated with exceptional and progressive care."

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Animal Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2003. He went on to attend the University of New Orleans and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management in 2007.

He enjoys the companionship of his three dogs: Dante, a Doberman; Ivan, a Boston Terrier and Grits, a Boston Terrier, all of whom enjoy going to the dog park. Gino's hobbies include studying architecture and Louisiana history, swimming, art, exercising and trying new restaurants.

StaffMary Hill

Veterinary Assistant Mary Hill has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since September of 2009. For three years prior to joining our team, she worked for a wolf sanctuary and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Antioch College in 2008.

She's a quick learner and truly enjoys being around the mix of patients brought into the clinic. She loves working with rescue groups in the area and admires "how involved in the community we are as a hospital. The doctors on staff here are all dedicated."

Mary enjoys the companionship of pets as well, and has three dogs named Sierra, Malik, and Mico. She likes to spend her free time reading in the sun, traveling, and eating snowballs.

StaffAnnemarie Healey

As a veterinary assistant with Magazine St. Animal Clinic since August 2012, Annemarie's responsibilities include keeping the appointment schedule running smoothly, surgery and dental preparation, clinical laboratory tests, and some administrative tasks. She has a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

"I enjoy the client-technician relationship, especially when a sick patient who has been with us a couple days returns to good health and is discharged,” she says. “Owners are so happy and thankful for all our hard work."

Outside work, Annemarie enjoys camping, running, cooking, biking, thrift shopping, and photographer. She has a torbie cat named Sumi and two dogs: a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Basil and a Chihuahua/terrier mix named Noma.

StaffAlison Neuliep

For Alison Neuliep, "getting to know our patients and seeing how we improve their lives" is the best part of her job at Magazine St. Animal Clinic. As a veterinary assistant, her responsibilities include assisting doctors during exams and with surgery preparation and keeping the clinic organized and clean. Alison has a bachelor's degree in public health from Tulane University and joined the clinic in January 2013.

"I like working at Magazine St. Animal Clinic because there is so much to learn every day," she says. "Co-workers are helpful and supportive and our clients are great."

Alison has a Weimaraner named Martini. In her free time, she enjoys swimming cooking, exercising, taking Martini to the park, and hanging out with family and friends.

StaffRebecca Breaux

Veterinary Assistant Rebecca Breaux has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since March 2011 and has a self-described "passion for animals." She divides her time between the clinic and classes at Holy Cross College, where she is seeking a degree in Biology.

She said she is learning a great deal from both school and work. "I enjoy working at Magazine Street Animal Clinic because of the high standards of patient care," Rebecca said when describing her job. "I like the personal relationships the doctors and staff have with our clients."

She spends her free time cooking, reading, spending time with family and watching the Saints and LSU football.

StaffKopano Hill

Kennel Technician Kopano Hill helps provide a clean and healthy atmosphere for our patients during their stay at Magazine Street Animal Clinic. He doesn't need any prodding when it comes time to take a walk with one of our pets, or to give them a bath.

When talking about his favorite part of his job, Kopano also described what we do best: "We help people by taking care of their animals."

He has a Pit Bull Terrier named Tyson, and takes him out to play every chance he gets. Kopano also plays basketball and enjoys working out.
