StaffRebecca Patrick, Hospital Manager, RVT

Hospital Manager Rebecca Patrick has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since March 2011 and has a self-described "passion for animals." She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Holy Cross College.

"I enjoy working at Magazine Street Animal Clinic because of the high standards of patient care," Rebecca says when describing her job. "I like the personal relationships the doctors and staff have with our clients."

She spends her free time cooking, reading, spending time with family and watching the Saints and LSU football. She shares her home life with her husband Christopher and their gang of dogs: three dachshunds named Lola, Gus, and Drew, as well as one crazy schnauzer named Micky.

StaffJohn Bergner, Office Manager, RVT

John has been a registered veterinary assistant at Magazine Street Animal Clinic since January 2009. John hails from Springfield, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia where he received his bachelor's degree in cognitive science in 2001. He is currently studying to become a registered veterinary technician.

John likes working and learning new things from the caring, knowledgeable staff at the hospital. "I love working at Magazine Street because of the amazing owners and patients we see every day," John said.

His hobbies include biking, playing Frisbee, mowing the lawn and reading Agatha Christie novels. He also enjoys riding his bike while his pit bull, Frankie, runs alongside. His animal companions also include two cats named Lex and Squirt.

StaffAnnemarie Healey, Assistant Manager, Inventory Specialist

A veterinary assistant with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since August 2012, Annemarie's responsibilities as Assistant Manager and Inventory Specialist include keeping the schedule running smoothly as well as administrative and marketing projects. She's also responsible for organizing and managing inventory levels. She earned a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and does freelance illustration and design, including pet portraits, in her spare time.

"I enjoy the client-technician relationship, especially when a sick patient who has been with us for a couple days returns to good health and is discharged.” she says. “Owners are so happy and thankful for all our hard work. I’ve established so many special relationships with clients since joining the MSAC team, and in a city as small and close-knit as New Orleans, that has been very important to me."

Outside of work, Annemarie enjoys camping, running, fishing, creating all the things, interior decorating, thrift shopping and photography. She has a torti cat named Sumi; a rescue cat from the Tylertown, Mississippi shelter fire named Mr. Krispy (Ninja); and two dogs: a Rhodesian ridgeback mix named Basil and a Chihuahua/terrier mix named Noma.

StaffKelly Kovac

Kelly Kovac was a receptionist at an animal hospital in Wisconsin for six years before she moved to New Orleans. We’ve been fortunate to have her work with us since February 2011. She brings compassion and understanding to both the patients and their owners. In her free time, Kelly plays sports, watches the Packers and Brewers, and goes running with her hound mix, Turner, every morning. She also runs marathons and spends lots of time outdoors with her husband Ronny.

StaffKimberly Harmon

Kimberly Harmon joined the staff at Magazine Street Animal Clinic in March 2016, where her responsibilities include checking in patients, maintaining correspondences and records, and being the first voice you hear when you call our hospital. Her favorite part of her job is being around puppies, and seeing owners reunited with their pets after they’ve been treated. She says, “The clinic makes lots of effort to connect on a personal level with clients and everyone really cares, which is great!”

At home, Kim has a three-year-old Dutch shepherd mix named Kaimen. Together, they like to kayak and skate. In her free time, Kim enjoys rock climbing, kundalini yoga, hiking, backpacking, longboarding, kayaking, gardening reading and just about anything outdoors.

StaffElora Sekula

Elora moved to the New Orleans area in June of 2015 from the east coast of Florida. She shares her home with her boyfriend Rob, her elder pup Sadi, and a newly adopted, feisty Maine coon mix named Ol' Rasputin. In Florida, Elora spent most of her time at the ocean, but in the city she's developed a new love for cooking, reading, Saints football and seeing live music whenever possible (of which there is no shortage!) Elora likes working as a receptionist at Magazine Street Animal Clinic because she enjoys being on the front line –aka meeting all the adorable patients first–and acting as a liaison between owners and the clinical staff.

StaffBrooke Meyers

A native of New Orleans, Brooke has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic for four years. She enjoys working at the clinic because she truly feels "everyone works so well together as a team and it really shows." Recently, Brooke has been helping as an assistant in the ICU area where she loves having further contact with all of our wonderful fuzzy clients! Brooke has an adorable four-year-old boxer/pit bull named Sophie who is the love of her life. When not working at MSAC, she enjoys gardening, watching Saints games, cooking and playing with her dog.

StaffJenna Marie Morales, RVT

Registered Veterinary Technician Jenna Morales has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since July of 2009. A native of Ponchatoula, she is a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and has an Associate's Degree in Animal Science from Delgado Community College, a degree in General Studies from Southeastern University, and a Certificate of Technical Studies in the Veterinary Assistant program from Louisiana Technical College.

She finds the atmosphere at the clinic calming and healing. "We work as a team. We all get along like family inside and outside the clinic. I learn something new all the time and I'm able to practice and improve my skills as an RVT everyday," she said.

At home, Jenna has an 2-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Paluma. Her free time is primarily occupied with being by the pool in the summertime, exercising when she can find the time, and spending time with her family.

StaffTeresa Fardella, RVT

Teresa Fardella is a registered veterinary technician who joined Magazine Street Animal Clinic in September 2012. Her responsibilities include patient care, client education and appointments. She closely works alongside Dr. Scott Gernon. Dentistry and oncology are special professional interests. Teresa has an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.

"We're always busy and seeing new cases, always learning something new," she says. "The doctors are all very respectful to patients, clients and employees."

Teresa has one adorable cat named Roberta and one small mix breed terrier named Minnie who she frequently practices agility with on the weekends. She enjoys spending her free time ballet dancing, choreographing and watching movies.

Whitley Snyder-Francis

Whitley Grew up in Folsom, California (trivia: It is home to Folsom Prison and where Johnny Cash sang to the prisoners “Folsom Prison Blues”). She attended California State University in Chico, California where she met her husband in Spanish class. He went on to become fluent in Spanish while Whitley, on the other hand, can only order food. Currently, she and her husband own an adorable a pit bull named Cali that loves to chew, go on long walks and nap. Whitley most recently finished the Delgado Community College Veterinary Technology program and is currently studying for the national exam. She came to Magazine Street Animal Clinic in 2015 and has been a wonderful addition to the staff. Whitley is always willing to go the extra mile to help everyone.

StaffGino Loiacono

A Veterinary Assistant who has been at Magazine Street Animal Clinic since 2004, Gino, hails from Metairie. Gino enjoys helping keep pets healthy and he is proud to be part of our caring, friendly staff. Gino said the best part of his day is "healing pets and keeping them comfortable." He said "the staff and clientele at the clinic are like family. Our four-legged friends are treated with exceptional and progressive care."

He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Animal Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2003. He went on to attend the University of New Orleans and received his Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management in 2007.

He enjoys the companionship of his two dogs: Ivan, a Boston Terrier, and Grits, a Boston Terrier, both of whom enjoy going to the dog park. Gino's hobbies include studying architecture and Louisiana history, swimming, art, exercising and trying new restaurants.

StaffKopano Hill

Kennel Technician Kopano Hill helps provide a clean and healthy atmosphere for our patients during their stay at Magazine Street Animal Clinic. He doesn't need any prodding when it comes time to take a walk with one of our pets, or to give them a bath.

When talking about his favorite part of his job, Kopano also described what we do best: "We help people by taking care of their animals."

He has a Pit Bull Terrier named Tyson, and takes him out to play every chance he gets. Kopano also plays basketball and enjoys working out.

StaffGabrielle Faust

Gabrielle previously worked at a clinic in Mississippi and decided last year to return home to New Orleans to work at Magazine Street Animal Clinic . After her initial interview, she knew she wanted to be a part of our compassionate team. She’s been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since 2015. “I've always loved animals, and to be able to help them every day surrounded by so many great people is what makes me love my job the most.” Her interests outside of time at the clinic include lots of fishing, cooking good food and listening to music (of which there is no shortage in New Orleans!)

She often assists Dr. Kevin with his daily appointments and surgeries as well as filling in many other roles in our ICU area.

StaffKate James

Kate has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since 2013 and has held many positions ranging from kennel tech to ICU manager. She is originally from New York City and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology in 2010 from SUNY Binghamton. She is currently enrolled in a veterinary technician licensing program through Purdue University. Kate has a very spoiled Great Dane named Darla. They both love the outdoors and enjoy hiking, camping and long walks around the city of New Orleans.

StaffGabrielle Corso

Gabrielle earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University. She has been part of the Magazine Street Animal Clinic team since August 2015 and has loved every minute. Besides assisting with the overall workflow at the clinic, she also coordinates appointments and helps out with surgery monitoring. She enjoy working at MSAC because “every day is different and I'm always learning something new. It's such a rewarding job to be helping animals.” In her free time Gabrielle enjoys listening to music and spending time with family and friends.

StaffAmanda Chiasson

Amanda has been a veterinary assistant with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since June 2014, around the same time she graduated from Delgado Community College’s veterinary technology program. She has two beautiful daughters, Madasyn and Emma. At home, she has one beloved dachshund named Chloe. Amanda enjoys working at MSAC largely because of her co-workers. Amanda loves working closely with Dr. Johanna Ecke through all of her surgeries and appointments.

StaffJena Perez

Jena began working at Magazine Street Animal Clinic in 2014 as a veterinary assistant and is very excited for what the future holds. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology and an associate’s degree in pre-veterinary medicine. When not assisting Dr. Rita or monitoring ICU patients at the clinic, Jena enjoys hanging out with her family and friends while enjoying the beautiful weather New Orleans always offers. Some of her favorite hobbies include reading, playing video games, and going fishing as well as playing with her yorkie mix named Kodiak.

Kirsten Young

Kirsten has been with Magazine Street Animal Clinic since June 2015. Although she is a fairly new veterinary assistant, she thoroughly enjoys working with an awe-inspiring staff. “With the help of my impressive coworkers I am learning new facts every day. This job is immensely rewarding and I love to go above and beyond to help our patients.” Kirsten currently has one stubborn dachshund that always keeps her entertained. She looks forward to adopting more fur babies in the future. In her downtime, Kirsten likes to sample the different cuisines from the many restaurants around the New Orleans area and enjoys reading mystery novels. “Working at a vet clinic has been a dream of mine for years. I am more than grateful and appreciative for this opportunity and to work with people that I can call my family."

Paige McRight-Claridge

Paige joined the Magazine Street Animal Clinic team in early 2016. She currently owns a blind cat and a blind dog. She has fostered and adopted stray animals for the last 10 years. She enjoys being at MSAC because she is “excited to learn something new every day about helping and caring for animals.”
